"Barren Cities, Dusty Streets"
....They said they care for our people in the streets...
just look around and you'll see us all trapped in the heat...
Sporadic tears of broken shears cut deeper than our darkest fears..
We live without a sun, and yet they expect us to see....
a tiny glimmer of hope...
while they tell us that one day there will surely be world peace..
While they eat and sleep and play,
We all starve as they feast on the poor man's hay..my niece
and nephews are tired of crying,
sick of all these half-truths that these lions are contriving,
stop lying as if our people can rest on,
half-truths that are far from being iron that can press us on....
Man they don't really care about us....
They say they do but they rather kick rocks
than see us all rise from the dust..
Then they say its not about color..
but theres a trend going on when i look at my brothers,
we all have different mothers but the same Father..
black, white, puerto rican, chinese, korean, japanese
and et-ce-tera....
even carmen electra couldn't be the hero
worthy to go out on the streets and find food for the people..
who are dying in need as our crying for peace
are utterly rejected in these cold streets...
They may build glitz and glamour malls covered in banners,
or stores of clothing lines and sneaker designs.
But they can never cover up the rate of how our people die...
alone in these cold, barren cities....
and dusty streets.
