Barely Afloat

You people talk of drowning

You who know what I know

I wish that I was drowning

Then maybe my plight would show

Instead I’m trapped here swimming

Through the murky waters of dust

The clouds and lines are blurring

And the signs I send are lost.

To you fellows who are drowning:

I sympathize indeed.

I wish that others knew I’m falling

To the waters where you bleed.
