Axe

As I bare my soul
Lay it naked at his feet
He glances away
And shifts in his seat
While I explain my whys
He snickers in his sleep
Before I try to stake my claim
I can already taste defeat
No tears roll down
That is my only relief
Because when I tried to bare my soul
You pretended to be asleep
