Authenticity, Unashamed

I thrive on the unabashed exhibition of a human soul.
A little boy laughing at a cheesy joke,
The excitement of something new,
A young girl giggling at a chance to braid hair.
I am drawn to those who struggle with humanity
Around them and within them.
Beauty lies inside a single tear
Dropped off the tip of the nose from empathy
Or pouring down with the pain of laughter.
Such strength happens when we stand together,
Unashamedly fighting for any cause.
I am drawn to authenticity.
A mask does not hide flaws, but create deformities.
Living true is finding healing.
