An Attempt to Sleep
Alice slept to the sound of lullabies
In her sister’s lap
But I have to sleep to your allegations,
Blames and insults
Thrown at each other
Like arrows
And I hurting crossfire
It seems the attempt to sleep is a crime
For the arrows follow me into my sleep
Like Alice: falling into a dark rabbit hole
Only for me
Darkness follows darkness
Not cupboards
This poem is about:
Me
My family
