Attempt

I can feel you drenched in sweat that’s dripping off my fingers
From the nerves you can observe in your presence how they linger
In my head that shakes the bed from the nightmare where I lost you
In someone else’s clockwork that did nothing but exhaust you
I couldn’t help but sense as if I lied within the surface of
Experimental lust without the scientific purpose
But the language that you speak to me is custom and unique to me
Your voice is so familiar; open up to me my knees are weak
Believe in me, I’m aware my balance won’t prevail
I dared myself to fall in hopes that you would be prepared
Not to catch me, no, not to pull me to my feet
But to give this love a home when it’s been wandering the streets
