Aspirations

“You will not become successful in your career”

“You will encounter difficulty when looking for your dream job”

That is what they all told when I said that I wanted to become a psychologist

I have been constantly told to reconsider my decisions

But I have never been so sure of something

I have never been so passionate

Since I could remember I always saw myself helping others

I did not know how I will do it

But I know that I will find a way

I am the one who determines where I go in life

As many things have stood in my way

My biggest obstacle has been myself

I have allowed myself to believe that I will not succeed if I choose to become a psychologist

That my future has and always will be in becoming an engineer

But what is life without doing what you love?

What is life without passion or joy?

That is a life in which you allow society to tell you what to do

And what to think

And how react

But that will not be me

I will not permit myself to become a robot, just like everyone else

Because helping others is what I have a passion for

Being the person that always listens and is there for you, are the characteristics that I want to be known for

And a job that allows me to do all of that is the job for me
