Proverbs 25:4-5

Remove the dross from the silver,
and material for the silversmith will emerge;
5 remove the wicked from before the king,
and his throne will be established in righteousness.

I placed my hope in fellowman and drank of their substance

My future seemed secured and well ... a smooth road to travel

“A respecter on persons”, that I am and in most every instance

I never heard the warning bell or the sound of the final gavel

Self-imposed blindness in the glitter of compassion

Fools gold for the taking ... almost like the real thing

Filling all rooms in the heart with the latest fashions

Dancing through existence like a foolish ding-a-ling

Shaping and molding the old heart for the better

Ignoring the new one that Christ placed in me

Comparing self to others and sometimes to the letter

that Christ came to fulfill ... for me to be renewed

Quite an example for the modern updated Christians

An artificial light empowered by the wits of man

Dragging through the days and weeks as so petitioned

by the flesh and its religion as the leader of the band

One day all will be exposed: the good, the bad and ugly

One day Pure and Holy will burn off all the dross

There won’t be anything left of me after the purging

but still I will survive after all there’s Christ and the Cross
