James 3:6 New English Translation (NET Bible)

And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence—and is set on fire by hell.

Ecclesiastes 7:22 New English Translation (NET Bible)

22 For you know in your own heart
that you also have cursed others many times.

Meditation

It so strange to be temperamental

When irritated no peace is found

It seems that with the speed of lightning

Your thoughts are moving without sound

It feeds your anger without mercy

A smoldering fire becomes ablaze

It roars and rumbles consuming senses

Destroying all that's well in every place

There is no hiding from its destruction

Why do I enjoy this scene?

Like in the dark of myself got even

With them who put the spark in me

How can I quench this roaring fire?

How to stop this senseless death?

When winds of time are growing

Into a cyclone fed by wrath

The answer does not dwell within me

Not to be found in my scorching heart

I guess I don’t have a prayer or maybe

It’s the Only Way to escape that snarl
