Another Year, Another Move

Everyone looks at moving

as if it is a Goodbye.

Hello,

Here I am a seven;

Afraid to go to 2nd grade

Because all my friends would stay.

I was the one leaving.

Goodbye.

Hello,

Now I am Nine;

I made some good friends, and

I am sad to have to leave to leave them

And all the memories we made together.

Goodbye.

Hello,

God, Now I am eleven;

I can't believe I'm in middle school.

But it's hard,

I have to start in a new state with no one.

I'll miss my friends.

Goodbye.

Hello,

Another Year, Another Move;

It's Ok now; I'm excited... sort of.

I'm going to my dad's... Little did I know

I would be staying.

I tried not to make many friends.

But now I have a single rose to remind me

of one unforgettable friend.

Goodbye.

Hello,

I stand before you as I am;

A girl with a very mobile past.

The past that I believe has made me... me!

It changed me. It made me stronger.

Here I stand

Room packed once again;

I know the drill.

Everyone looks a moving

as if it is a Goodbye.

I see it as a Hello.

So instead of saying Goodbye.

This time I will say Hello.
