And Cries

She holds him in her arms,

feeling the soft heartbeat.

Her small newborn son

She holds him close and cries.

She smiles as he's growing,

Her brave tall soldier boy

Soon he will be gone

She holds him close and cries.

She smiles in the chapel,

His wedding vows are made.

Embraced by the one

Who holds him close, and cries.

In what way may I say

That I love you my son?

No words can express.

When I hold you close, I cry.

Though on death's bed I lay,

My heart that you have won

Will smile in the sky.

He holds me close, and cries.
