On and On

My teacher checks my papers

My mommy checks her weight

My daddy checks his watch

While I look for a play mate

My bestie checks her hair

My boyfriend checks his phone

I stick around to make sure

I'm not isolated, alone

My children check their schedules

My husband checks the bills

My life keeps moving on and on

Discontent, unfulfilled

My neighbors check with family

My doctor checks my health

A moment stops around me

Finally, some wealth.
