The Amphitheater

A golden dust pours over each breath that escapes their shallow lungs

Yellowed paper blossoms from their side satchel, for love they have brung

Etched onto cloudy guiding lines, they keep them there as a remainder of beauty.

Brown leather shoes tap the cement beneath their seated, breezy body

The gusts bring a deep purple, a thought that leave their eyes groggy

They exhale, leaving their overflowing cotton blouse spilling onto the moss

Soft orange paints their skin with a new hue

dancing upon pink lips and bright eyes

a mouse scampers by

leaving the mystery of life

as another contribution to their wandering mind.

And as they stretch their legs out in front

dotted socks emerge from beneath blue jeans to taste the world

a heron sips the sunset

a leaf falls to earth

a fish jumps in the distance.
