The American Dream

Sun, 07/14/2013 - 11:28 -- skz117

i live in a world full of hatred and divison.

Where our ideas divide us.

Democrats, Republican

Hispanic or Dutch

What does it mater

When you live in "the land of the free

And the home of the brave?"

But are we really brave when we ignore the fact that we live in this world with other

Human Beings?

Human Beings who enjoy the

Rush of destruction

And the simplicity of chaos

And the joy in watching Uncle Sam suffer.

We take our moment of silence and then run away with the next story of a tragic star

Slipping into the oblivion of the American Dream

I can remember where I was when N' Sync broke up

I can remember what i was doing when Whitney Houston died

I can remember who I was with when the Red Sox won the 2004 World Series

But I can't remember what I was doing when the Twin Towers fell

And for that

I am ashamed.
