The American Dream

The American dream

An American fiend

It isn't always what it seems when you peel back the scene

Layer after layer

Cut after cut

“Gotta make it big, I can't stand to stay stuck”

Fuck the politics where they're sellin’ polished shit

Wrapped it in a pill and ask you to swallow it

I know that I'd follow it if it looked more appealing

It's not worth the risk when you know what you're stealing

The set's getting quiet when you choose to turn around

Want your little check to not make a sound

You don't want to end the life that you knew you always wanted

Who gives two shits if the kid’s getting haunted?

Living off the broken life that was ripe to sacrifice

Make the child pay the price, so you can stop from workin’ nights

Working through the open mics with sights of a bigger height

Take a mile to save the flight while sorting through the lurking vice

Don't worry what your baby's in to beat the competitors

You reached for the Aliens but settled for a Predator

Never been vetted for the job he applied

You better watch his car

I mean, better watch his drive

Those sick set of eyes could identify the fright

Snacking on site

Watch the Terrifier bite

We're living’ in a Nightmare we never can escape

Running for our lives, but you're jogging in place

It Follows in the race that you're always gonna lose

Never gonna face how she'll never get to choose

Your Final Destination keeps those Barbarians loose

Going through trauma

Workin' through the abuse

You couldn't get on Tubi, let alone a decent plot

Don't say your life's a movie ‘cause I promise that it's not
