America the Great

Every morning in school we are told to rise and recite the pledge of allegiance.

As we get older, this becomes more of a routine.

We no longer need to be told to stand.

We stand uniformly and pledge to a country that is falling to its knees.

We are all brainwashed and cannot see that we are pledging ourselves to a lost soul.

In school we are told to rise and recite the pledge of allegiance, but I remain seated.

This poem is about:
My country
Our world
