America the Beautiful

America the beautiful
America the great
A land o'errun with poverty
A land so filled with hate

I look around and see the signs
A mother sobs an infant cries
The Rich, they sip their Chardonnay
While Flint's water runs brown and gray

I see a nation torn apart
Every day another shot
Stills the beating of a heart

We just can't love
We have to fight
My neighbor is my enemy
I shudder at the sight

Children in the streets are starving
No one bats an eye
Beyonce just released an album
Everyone loses their mind

We fight for cakes
We fight to pee
But someone's family might be starving?
Eh.
Just let it be.

America the nearly-dead
America the lame
A land shedding its blue, white, red
While carrying its shame
