Amen

The lord giveth
And the lord taketh away
What more can I say?
Im indebted to ground
to the earth, where Im bound
Now the sun ceases to rise
With sleep in my eyes
I stand facing the end
With a heart on the mend
I am seeing a light
Distant but bright
My heart stutters and beats
Until it repeats
And rips from my skin
It only hurts from within
Only hurts to inhale
Brittle and frail
Meant to be
Meant for me
The pain before the ectasy
Six feet beneath the dirt
I swear to God, I do not hurt.
The light is warm, the breeze is calm
The peace is here, the torment gone.
