Alone In An Empty Home

A single tear falls down her cheek,

As she stand so small and meek,

A child lost within the dark.

Hurtful words ringing in her ears,

Whore.

Slut.

Useless waste of space.

Hands are pressed to her ears,

But she can’t block out the sound.

Bruises and black eyes

Blood and tears

Convinced she’s weak,

Unworthy of their love.

And when she cries for help,

No answered prayer rises from the dark.

A broken child

Left, lost and alone

In a broken home.
