All those good intentions

I woke up this morning in love with you.
The tone of your voice, the feel of your shirt,
The reality of my dream.
I know its not true.
Not you.
Its over.

But once again,
You'll visit me.
Leaving me heavy and breathless,
in the motionless state from which I came.
We fell so fast and hard it was the perfect game.
We weren't ready.
Too young, too wrong, too crazed,
too distracted with all the good intentions that never made their mark.
Its not only love.
That isn't all you need.
Time has to play its cards.

But Im trying Ry, sure as hell trying to learn.
And to pick up those fragmented pieces,
To some day form that perfect love of which you spoke.
Just wanting it to fit, to work, to be what we couldn’t get right.
