All Out of Roses Now

frozen blood drops perch like

vultures on your eyelashes, frozen

drops of ice crimson like a rose,

you’re all out of roses now.

you can’t see the snow falling,

the frosty blanket covering you,

your vision must have been

rosy, rosy, filled with roses

the petals covered your eyes.

you always loved roses

but you don’t have any more.

did you see them,

the roses, all the roses

that flew forth from your body

when you flew away from us

after them, to be just like them?
