All I Need is Reason

Were I to never think before I act,

Misfortune would abound incessantly.

My reason is what keeps my life intact.

It’s what I hold most dear in life, in fact

I know what poor decisions there could be

Were I to never think before I act.

In everything, I exercise great tact;

And never risk unnecessarily

My reason is what keeps my life intact.

Yet often trivial matters will distract—

I lose control; I would more frequently,

Were I to never think before I act.

Despite my flaws, their negative impact,

I never let them get the best of me.

My reason is what keeps my life intact.

So highly do I value this abstract

Because I’d surely face calamity

Were I to never think before I act.

My reason is what keeps my life intact.
