All I Need is My Own Determination

Fri, 04/01/2016 - 10:30 -- A.lett

I have my belongings,

my family and friends,

and all the simple things

that help to meet ends,

but to rely on another heart

is emotional suicide.

In a world where living

is nothing if not trying,

I am the only one giving

breath to keep me from dying.

Determination is the breath

which fuels my whole self.

Maybe a day will come

where I must try life alone.

My life has always come from

the will of my own.

Without my tenacious mind,

my life would be unlived.
