Alive

Location

She's sitting by a lake,

Looking down into the soft waves,

Water folds over its self,

Like she wishes she could,

So many lies,

So many secrets,

So many jokes,

So many tales,

Lost and confused,

As the water flickers,

Her life slidding by,

Slipping through her fingers,

Something's pulling her down,

It's in the air,

It's all around,

Drowning out her fear,

Choking out her tears,

Leaving only warmth there,

It's not cruel,

It's not mean,

Sometimes things aren't as they seem,

Angels pull her up,

Remove her red satin,

Wrap her in a white dress,

And watch as the ruffles float,

Effortless,

Watch as they play around her legs,

Scars that no longer matter as she twirls,

As her hair swirls around her face,

Leaving a smile and crown in it's place,

Listen as laughter fills her lungs,

Nothing lurking in the shadows,

Nothing blackening her skies,

The darkness in her eyes replaced with stars,

She's finally free,

Finally alive.
