Akeelah

I start myself on the right path
And quickly diverge when I'm
Met by a new friend reunited old enemy
Money flows outta my hands
My thoughts are scrambled
But it's fun you see?
Then focus is drawn to the wrong things;
My life alters just a bit
Then I realize Howard might be slipping
So I get proud
I won't let the Asian man stare down his
nose at me
Diverging my dream
It ain't as hard as it seems
I realize that a queen
Has to take responsibilities for her actions
In her own kingdom
And I look to my future with my new wisdom
Knowing how I'll be strong
And how I'll get along
And so I am proud
I bounce back now with surprises and support
Unexpected from old love turned enemy
Turned protector again
But I can see past this man
Into my life and education in this far away land
There I shall stand
