Again and Again
Location
Who will save the little girl
Scared and all alone,
The little girl that was chased
And shot at from her home?
Who will cry for the little boy
Who was only five,
That was slaughtered by machetes
After watching his family die?
Whose heart will hurt for the woman
Terrified and so young,
That was gang raped while she was pregnant
And ended up losing her unborn son?
Who will feel for the man
Who risked his life and strived,
To keep his family from death
But found out they were burned alive?
Who will care about these people
When countries take the time to spend,
The time, energy, and money to help
After they said “Never Again”?
The Holocaust, Cambodia, Rwanda, Darfur
Again and again it goes,
When will it ever stop?
Seems like no one knows.
Who can relate to being forced to work
Or hiding away?
Can you imagine being forced
To dig your own grace?
To be mistreated
And ill fed,
All the while knowing
They want you dead?
Being cut and sliced
And left to die,
Without ever knowing
The real reason Why?
Because you’re Jew, Tutsi,
Gypsy or black?
No legitimate reason
And that’s a fact.
This is not right and it needs to end
So it can finally be true
When we say “Never Again.”
