After the Breaking Point

A locked door like her heart, never to be opened again,
A rusty blade of an old razor coated in blood from past wounds,
A towel at her side, stained dark and crimson red,
A folded note,
A broken mirror,
And a little girl lying there dead,
Her parents find her lifeless body in a bloody tangled mass,
Their world turned upside down, begins to swirl and swirl,
She had always been mommy's perfect angel and her daddy's little girl.
What compelled her to do this?
Everyone had asked,
She'd been pushed to her breaking point says the note when read at last,
Why didn't she tell us?
Her parents begged and screamed,
She'd told you many times says the note under its bloody sheen,
Why didn't we listen to her when she needed us most?
Because you were too absorbed and very much engrossed,
You were busy with many superficial things that will never do you good,
And now the little girl who once loved you,
And who was greatly misunderstood,
Will haunt your thoughts and dreams forevermore,
As they rightly should.
