Across the Waterfall

Morning arose. The red sun was rising in the sky, bringing light across its path.

I left the second I knew that it was dawn.

I left everything behind, bearing nothing

but the clothes on my back as I went into the deep forest.

The tall trees and green moss surrounded me, entangling me with a feeling of relief

Morning soon passes on as I leave what seems to be a trail

And went deeper into the forest.

It was only me, all alone.

I left barefoot, allowing the cool morning dew and soft green grass

To hug my feet and comfort every toe with embrace.

Then just when I felt as if I was lost, I found what I was looking for.

Right in front of me was a beautiful waterfall

with a magnificent view of a meadow and a river right below.

The sight could only be described as breathtaking and the land was amazing,

with what looked like smooth rocks and radiant flowers.

The sky perfectly mixed in with the water as a single cloud could not be seen.

The noon sun was shining, welcoming me into this new sight

of beauty by hugging me in its warmth.

The water looked cool and refreshing as the wild wind was spraying mist on my face.

The water looked too precious and perfect to be tampered by my human presence,

but it was so inviting to the point that I could not resist.

I got as close to the edge as possible. Then I jumped,

the wind blowing in my hair and face as I plummeted into the rushing water.

The second me body went fully underwater, I felt a change all over me.

There was a sense of force from the pressure of the water pushing in all directions,

but at the same time, there was a sense of great pleasure.

It was as if all of my stress, worries, fears were dissolved and washed away.

I quickly poked my head above the surface. I stayed in the water for a while.

Then I got out, feeling refreshed and renewed.

Granted my clothes were soaking wet, but I lacked a reason to care.

After I found some berries, I climbed onto a boulder and looked at my surroundings.

On one side, I saw the waterfall, glistening in the sunlight.

On the other side, there was a meadow with a crooked river and,

to finish it off, a beautiful sunset.

After the sun said its farewell and hid behind the mountains,

the moon said hello as it took the sun’s place.

Fireflies and a fantastic array of stars presented a glittering performance in the night sky.

I decided to rest in a small meadow of flowers.

It was truly relaxing. The scenery was a calming view.

With my mind at ease, I laid my head

and the sound of the waterfall soothed me as I went to sleep.
