Abuse

frozen in time
the house does not age, it does not move
unshakable; do they know the damage they have done?

the cold windows cry out,
begging to feel warmth
the crack spreads, leaving hopelessness

wooden floors miss the weight
that once was there
but they're gone

the violence has disappeared
shouts have silenced
nothing remains

the house is free
