Abode Abandoned

The Earth, our home, was once so beautiful,

Tall trees, deep seas with air so fresh and clean;

Sun rise, clear skies this place was yet youthful,

Trials and tribulations still unseen;

Alas, one day mankind did first awake,

In harmony Earth housed the creature too;

‘Twas sad that man decided to forsake,

The place that kept him safe and warm, adieu!

With pleading eyes He thinks with great dismay,

“Do not they know they’re running out of time?”

No change is made, their future will decay;

The melting ice and scorching heat-- they’re signs!

Each day the Earth will spin, the sun will sleep,

Oh woe is Man! He’s sown, he’ll surely reap.
