365 days ago I was a little girl

Wishing that my little dreams would come to be true

Now is the time that I am no longer wishing

But watching my future come to be reality

As I take my first baby step

To arrive at the next page of my life

 

365 days of learning and planning

To be better today than yesterday

Better at having confidence

Better a making decisions

Decisions of what to become when I am no longer a senior

 

365 days of becoming an example

An example for my only sister

An example for my autistic little brother

An example for my elder brother who battles a mental illness

Through my family's hardships, I found strength

Through the tears I found love and compassion for others

 

I still feel like that little girl from 365 days ago

Yet the lessons I needed to learn

Will remain in my heart

As I take my first baby step
