Ham and bananas,

Fish fillet,

Why do they all sound the same?

Running for some rattle in their pocket.

Oh jumping junebugs,

Jesus Christ,

Yeah I sure put up a fight,

But now I think it’s time to meet the mister.

Oh careless Mary,

Whatcha’ say?

Have we truly gone astray?

Of has your good book somehow been forgotten?

See someday we’ll come out the same.

And the lucky ones remain insane,

Leaving behind their cares and their worries.

So, Lucy listen, won’t you dear?

I just had a swell idea,

Promise papa that you will never worry.

Go find joy and pain and sorrow,

And if you lose you’ll have tomorrow.

And don’t ever let ‘em tell you that you can’t.

And if your life just gets you down,

And you don’t have a soul around,

Pick up a page and honey you just rant.

Now ain’t it bitter,

Ain’t it bad?

That you have to see your dad,

Putting up a struggle for his life?

But don’t you fret none,

Don’t you cry,

You know I’m going to be with my wife.

Our advice to you is simple:

Be a doll,

Show off them dimples.

Remember love is better than strife.

And Lucy, no one makes it out alive.
