2021 Dreams - Inspired By Langston Hughes “I Dream A World”

I dream a world where weapons are only used for self defense

Where weapons aren’t used out of hate and anger

Where children can feel safe in schools

Not having to have lockdown drills because of people with bad intentions

I dream a world where love is real

Not that fake kind

Actual love

No cheating, no secrets, just plain love

I dream a world where domestic violence doesn’t exist

Where kids and adults don’t have to flinch, and fear the ones they love

Where you don’t find people hiding in closets, and bathrooms just waiting for the terrorizer to calm down

I dream of a world where sadness doesn’t overpower and take over our lives

Where people don’t have too feel alone because they self harm

Where pain makes you skip meals, or not go outside for a day

Where people can find safe haven in someone’s arms and just talk

I dream for a world of peace

No meds, no extra happy drug to take the pain away

Just natural happiness

Where you don’t have to take medication to feel like something you’re not

I dream of a world ridden of all drugs

Where happiness doesn’t come in a bottle, or a cup, or a plastic bag

It comes from within you

Where you don’t feel pressured to take something you don’t want to

I dream of a world where communication, and self confidence wander

Where no one should have to feel the awkward ongoing no’s and I’m good’s because someone won’t leave you alone

Where you shouldn’t have to push anyone off of you because they are doing something you don’t like

I dream of a world where people don’t have to worry about being jumped, or set up

Where you can just walk down the street day or night no problems whatsoever

I dream of that

That’s not the world we live in though

I dream a world where people only shed happy tears

People who know the difference between right and wrong

People who want change

Actual change

p.s. : Even though that isn’t the world we live in today, there’s always room for change and improvement! So let’s show the world what we got!
