We’re the class of getting what we want, when we want it, no questions asked.
We claim to live on the edge, hey don’t you remember, You Only Live Once.
Really our lives are as cushioned as the couches we’re glued to because if you tell us no
Our feelings will get hurt.
We stay up late watching cartoons, which were created for adults.
And our homework?
It might get done last minute, and if we’re lucky it’ll be close to our best.
Some of our grades are as low as our pants, because no one seems to care anymore.
We straighten our hair, and cover our imperfections with makeup
Because the people we look up to are portraying perfection on TV.
Does anyone know who we truly are?
Let’s creep on each other’s Facebook, or look at their tweets.
Seriously, privacy is overrated! We splatter our lives all over the internet
Then complain that everyone knows everything about us.
We can text 500 words a minute, and Snap Chat our way to popularity, but
Nothing beats a real conversation. We wouldn't know that, though.
We want to change the world, and we want to make a difference,
But who will take us seriously when we’re covered in tattoos
And have holes the size of golf balls in our ears?
We won’t have to worry about that, though, if we keep eating what we want,
When we want it,
Because people won’t be able to see around us in order to find the next best thing.
Our food isn’t the only thing getting “Super-sized”.
We have our noses in our phones, and our eyes glued to our laptops
While our books collect dust in the corner.
Good thing we have our IPhones at the tips of our fingers, so we can always ask Seri what to do.
Why would we want to figure anything out on our own?
