A memoir of me and a memoir of you,

For them to see me and for them to see you.

Legacies shine bright, but also burn fast

Hard work/ dedication that never took a halt.

Breadwinner life eaten away in a single sitting

But no one else can do the job, for that it’s all

His fault.

His necks covered in dirt, and hands pruned in oil

Headaches through the roof and eyes dark soil.

She looks up to see his tiresome face,

He shrugs in guilt filled with disdain.

Her eyes shine and sees right through him,

and promises herself one day he’ll be proud

And will be able to live his life to the fullest
