look into your eyes, and i realize that
LOVE
is like a million little flowers at our feet,
like walking through a meadow.

Every little flower has this wonderful
little truth to offer,
every one of them has this undeniable
beauty
that it is willing to share.

And as I take it in I realize it is too much to withstand.
I feel unworthy.
I close my eyes
I let it go and push it away.

Love is not for mortals,
and that is why we have to part, my sweet.
But one day, the sun will set for the last time,
and we will be able to understand it;
we will be able to absorb those truths.

On that day, and only then,
will the hearts
of you and I
feel love as it is meant to be felt.
Blindly will our souls join to be

I really enjoyed this piece!  I like how you began with the number 1 and found a way to tie this same theme in with the end of your piece. I like that this poem is so honest and thoughtful. My favorite lines are... "LOVE is like a million little flowers at our feet, like walking through a meadow. Every little flower has this wonderful little truth to offer,"  The lines are simple but, convey a meaning of love that inspires me to keep reading. Keep Writing! Good work! I'd love to read some of your other work!
