“If I Could Change Any One Thing”
Material things will pass away;
Shiny new cars, expensive clothes,
And the latest new electronic device.
None of these things are here to stay,
Neither can you take them with you when you go away.
They won’t buy you into heaven, no matter what the price.
But these are the things that my generation values, to be precise.
It’s not how one looks or who you know.
Physical appearances are just for show.
It’s what’s in our heart that matters the most,
For the body will grow old and feeble,
And become but a ghost.
So if I could change any one thing,
I would change those things that my generation values the most.
A man should be judged by his character I would sing,
Not by what to the table he can bring.
What we should value is love, community service, and treating one another with respect!
But instead the needs of others, we choose to neglect.
This is the change that I would perfect!
