The Fault is Mine

Location

I hear the voices in my head,

The ones that whisper words of dread.

The voices that torment, and cause me pain,

The ones that would make any man go insane.

Thick fog, that comes upon the mind like a torrent of water,

as it quenches out its enemy, fire, like the one that killed my daughter.

The screaming and agonizing voices are the ones that make sharp jabs of accusation.

But they’re right you know, it was my fault, for I was not at my station.

Her death is on my shoulders, for I’m the one to blame.

This is the story of a man, who is now forever changed.
