Emerald Sky

A gem called Emerald

Shines the sky

Brightly, and calls it

Her Emerald Sky

To the Earth,

Emerald crashes down

And explodes with

A shining crater to

Mark her existence

The sky is now

Dark as a cave,

And Emerald, with

Her light, walks right in

She searches each

Cavern, looking for

Gems just like her,

Lighting up the cave

She tries to find

A staircase to go

Back to the Emerald

Sky she once

Shined brightly in

But the cave calls

Emerald's name,

And it speaks of

Fine gems to seek

But every gem she

Finds, doesn't seem

To shine as brightly

As the Sky she's

Dwelled in.

She picks up a

Diamond, hoping

It'll keep her satisfied,

But the Diamond has

Lost its light.

So nervously,

She tries to navigate

Where her steps have

Been traced.

But her footprints

Have been erased

By the rain that

Shines on the cave.

So she wanders into

A cavern, lost in

The cave, where a

Staircase of jewels

Await.

And with her emerald

Feet, Emerald climbs,

And reclaims her

Emerald Sky that was

Once lost.
