A glance too sharp , a word too blunt; Betrayal: A labyrinth of friendship

They began on solid ground
Two friends, close and carefree
No cracks, no doubts, just trust
Simple, unbreakable, or so they thought
But shadows don’t announce themselves
They crept in, quiet, unnoticed
And the air between them began to shift
They walked side by side
But the road wasn’t as clear as before
A maze took shape
Twists and turns that neither saw coming
Secrets whispered, truths twisted
The lines between them blurred
They drifted further into the labyrinth
Each step deepening the divide
They felt it – the weight of unspoken words
The growing distance, the tension rising

Moving together, yet worlds apart
Lost in a maze of their own creation
But here’s the twist:
It wasn’t shadows, it wasn’t the maze
One had been holding the map all along
Leading the other in circles
Guiding them into the darkness
While pretending to be lost too
Trust, so simple, and untested
Wasn’t betrayed by circumstance
But by a careful hand
Crafting the maze, they were trapped in
Now, they stand at the end
The map burned; the truth exposed
What was once golden
Is now twisted
A web of deception beneath their feet
So, what will they do?
Can they ever find their way back
Or is the labyrinth their final destination?
