The Sea
The Sea
He chose the Sea, and the song it sung
The toiling and coiling, beneath August’s heavy sun
And the Sea chose him
For the cracked lines on his face
His bumpy calloused hands
His romantic, soulful embrace
His reverence and honor
And living carefree
The Sea loved the man
And the man loved the Sea
On land the man was crushed and broken
Absorbing all the hate and promise that were spoken
On the water, the dirt all washed way
Reborn and baptized all in one day
‘Cause the Sea chose the man
And the man chose the Sea
A bond stronger than eternity
