HALLOWED WASTE

Haunted by an inescapable sense of waste...

In the throes of striving to be chaste.

Watching youth erase without trace...

At a pace that fails to win the race.

Giving one's years to one who is cruel...

While caught up in the midst of a cosmic duel.

Yet, with hard won wisdom comes great sadness...

But wisdom abates collective inner madness.

Wishing the end will finally come...

On a worldly stage that's come undone.

Longing for days that will never come again...

And all that could have but has never been.

So much more scope for the imagination...

Lies beyond what idealogues keep teaching without cessation.

Pained forever then by the realization...

Many will reject the sole in soul salvation.
