We cry when you leave
We cry when you return
You see so many tears through out your journey
You see other's tears
and your own worst fears
yet you still continue on each day

You see the stories through different eyes
You see the truth
and flinch at the lies
You hear the cries
and bombs bursting in air
To make sure that OUR flag
is still standing there

We take you for gains
and forget the losses
till the day rolls around
when we step aside for you
then the next you're just gone again

You don't ask for much
just a little respect
but unless your in blue, white or green
what you deserve
is never recieved

I'm taking this stand for all those to hear
I live in America land of the free
home of the brave
it's all because of people like you
thank you for your life and sacrifice
someday I'll make it up to you

Thank you again for all that you do
I raise the flag in my yard everyday for you
for the past, present, and future
Coast Guard, Navy, Marines,
Air Force, National Guard, and the Army
Please come home safe soon
I pray for you.
