James 5:12     New English Translation

12 And above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear,

either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath.

But let your “Yes” be yes and your “No” be no,

so that you may not fall into judgment.

 

Spiritual principles are sharply defined

Right and wrong are precise in standard

Clear and cloudy and happy or depressed

Are truly understood in their perspective

 

In the Word, God agrees with their feeling

Emotional people will recognize its mandates  

If the word does not say it they will reflect it

We conduct ourselves according to this principle

 

In a great emotional upheaval, our mind becomes undependable

It is easily affected then by waves of constant feelings

Emotions work in full swing right then and are quickly unamendable

Until it drains itself in ways even if it takes much wheeling-dealing

 

Emotion is fully natural, and it has only itself at steak

Nothing to do with God and Life, and that is clearly seen

Security in Salvation is to have an emotional break

From that entity called feeling that surely could have been
