Only adjective I care about is “close”
Only verb I care about is “touch”
Only noun I care about is “you”
I am far past that point
It transcends just being together
It’s the perfection of our simultaneous proximate existence
It’s “being” together
Living and breathing together
Someone who spends every second with their sweetheart
Forgets how the simple gift of mutual presence snatches the air out of lungs
You are breath taking
When the waiting wears me and withers me to bone
I hold my breath and threaten
Some unseen power that I won’t exhale until deliver you to me
My lungs plead for oxygen
My skin turns pale
I’m a child in a tantrum
I won’t cease until I seize my security blanket
Until you are wrapped around me
Because with you is the only place it makes sense to be
