Mind set

Romans 8:5-7             New English Translation

5 For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit. 6 For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace, 7 because the outlook of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to the law of God, nor is it able to do so.

Man’s head can mind the spirit as well as the flesh

It is in habits that it forms and to who it will listen to

Is our mind the dividing line between spirit and body?

Is our mental faculty the scale where it looks for proof?

If one has the mindset on the Spirit; then the Spirit may rule the mind

Ideally, if we could trade our mind and put on the mind of Christ

That would accomplish so much, but how could that be done?

I can go out of my mind, I know, but to shed it will cost a price.

Whatever the mindset it follows, if just the flesh death will result

Life and peace if on the Spirit, for the mind has a choice in this

It could be like a watchman always looking out for the inner man

So that the outer will be yielded wholly and the inner triumph it

When the inner man gets exercised to cooperate with the Holy Spirit

Then the outer man may be healed enough to follow the righteous path

Even in silence, he would understand, and then peace will surely follow

I know, the flesh will be still the flesh, but God would deliver from the past
