Lean on self
Hebrews 12:14-15 New English Translation
Do Not Reject God’s Warning
14 Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no one be like a bitter root springing up and causing trouble, and through it, many become defiled.
The bible is specific and does not go in circles.
When it says “all people,” doesn’t that mean everybody?
But I can name exceptions by using the same scriptures.
I will not understand? That surely becomes a hurdle.
Will I notice God one day if I’m not able to change?
By my attitude, can I fall short of the Grace so supplied?
Is this why so often without any sign or fore-warning
Dissatisfaction grinds at me, and bitterness springs up?
Is that when trouble surrounds me, because of my making?
Talking lots about “white as snow,” and after that belly-ache
Blaming others for my wants as a true reality, I am faking.
To slip deeper into a pit feeling defiled at Heaven’s door.
My attitude is wrong and was so from the beginning.
I enjoyed sin much more than that was good to me.
It should be dead to me, but from far before the beginning.
I wanted to be part of the crowd, whose admiration I still seek.
This surely poisons my spirit in a lingering process that endures.
When I was redeemed. I felt so clean and in purity, ensured
Now I am old and in the flesh and supposed to be mature.
But my dis-integrating self returns to a pile labeled: manure.
