A long Day
It’s been a long day of farming
As the shadows start to grow
And the sky turns orange
I know it is time to stop what I am doing
I walk back with tools in hand
right as the sun begins to set
Each of my boots compresses into the flesh of the fertile soil.
As I stroll by the wheat fields, I think to myself
“harvest season is almost here”
As I stroll by the chickens, I think to myself
“I will need to fix that chicken fence tomorrow”
Sweating badly, I take out my handkerchief
And began whipping my brow.
soon my house appears from the distance
soon I’m inside my house
and soon I’m off to rest
exhausted from a long day of farming.
