Snow More Beautiful Than You
Despite the greys and pales of day the moon
Embraced, illumed the clouds or absence of
Cast shadows down upon each snow filled grove
Each branch well-burdened, covered in sparkling frost
Made up the whole of blinding wonderland
Became a scene seen naught but in art’s fancy
Each night a glory to surpass befores
Rings out in silence, winter’s beauty hushed.
Now bring your eyes to urban slush and grey
It seems a poor companion to the first
Glance closer and the beauty shines again
High rooftops glazed with icy gaping mouths
Trees bending, lit by streetlights ‘fore the moon
Soft pale covering pavement for a day
