Distractions

It’s so difficult living in a world

Full of millions of distractions

They try to make it impossible

For us to turn inward and grow

We get sucked into addictions

To these material objects

As these bad habits

Soon become daily routines

Waking up and checking your phone

Scrolling on social media

All of these things that distract you

from the present moment

And fill your mind with negativity

May we learn to not cave into these distractions

But learn to use them instead as tools

May we move away from the material world

And take the time to turn inward and grow

To sit in stillness with ourselves

No distractions present

You must sit with yourself

Even the negative parts

Which you were trying to distract yourself from

How will you even grow

If you never learn to fully feel them out

And finally completely let them go

Me
Our world
